Our Mission is to provide recreational opportunities, acquire and maintain sites that enhance our quality of life, and preserve the natural, recreational, cultural and historical resources of the district.


The Point Roberts Park and Recreation District oversees the Community Center, which hosts community programs and meetings for local social and civic groups and charities, and Baker Field, with over 60 acres with over 2 miles of hiking trails, a skate park, the playing field for baseball, football and soccer and a playground.

The Community Center houses the senior center which holds lunches on Wednesday and Friday, as well as housing the Historical Center which presents the local history of Point Roberts. The local library and a playground are also located on the Community Center grounds. During times of emergency the building becomes a shelter.

Point Roberts Park and Recreation District is looking for 2 new Commissioners.

Are you interested in serving the community? We have had to move up our search for people interested in serving on the Point Roberts Park District Board. The Point Roberts Park and Recreation District is looking for 2 new commissioners for appointment to the Park Board starting this coming November and December. The terms for appointment last until the next general election in 2023 at which time the new members would need to run for the remaining time left on their appointed seats.

The Park District oversees the maintenance and scheduling of the Community Center and Baker Field as well as running several recreational activities like the summer kids camp and the kayak program. The district also provides additional assistance for groups utilizing our facilities whenever possible. This is a great opportunity to work with almost every civic and social organization here in Point Roberts. The Park Board meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm. The new commissioners’ main responsibilities would be to attend these meetings, to help establish and review district policies as well as control the budget and expenditures for the district.

If you are interested in applying for these positions, then please feel free to attend our October 11th and November 8th meetings so you can get an idea of what we do as a board. Since our meetings are currently held online using Zoom, the information about attending and the agendas can be found posted on PAWS and Nextdoor the weekend before the scheduled meeting date.
