Point Roberts Park and Recreation District No. 1 is still holding meetings; however, due to the current coronavirus crisis, we are attempting to restrict our meeting agenda to only items that need direct action by the Park Board and are following recommendations on open meetings during this period put out by the State Attorney General’s office. The Park District will continue to monitor the crisis and we will announce any changes to our current meeting plans. Although the public is still welcome to attend and make public comment under the Open Meetings Act, we are asking that if possible, any comments be submitted by email to help us reduce contact between groups of people to help prevent contagion.

During this state of emergency, we plan on presenting a monthly report on non-actionable items that would normally be brought up in the Park Board meetings, as well as trying to inform our residents about any changes to our operations. The March report can be found here:

Our Mission is to provide recreational opportunities, acquire and maintain sites that enhance our quality of life, and preserve the natural, recreational, cultural and historical resources of the district.
The Point Roberts Park and Recreation District oversees the Community Center, which hosts community programs and meetings for local social and civic groups and charities, and Baker Field, with over 60 acres with close to 2 miles of hiking trails, a skate park and the playing field for baseball, football and soccer.
The Community Center houses the senior center which holds lunches on Wednesday and Friday, as well as housing the Historical Center which presents the local history of Point Roberts. The local library and a playground are also located on the Community Center grounds. During times of emergency the building becomes a shelter.
