Clerical/Recreational Facilitator Position
(Part-time Job Position)
We are looking for an organized, responsible clerical worker who can also help facilitate recreational programs. In this position, you will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks as well as working on recreational programs as assigned by the Park Board. This position will also act as a backup for our maintenance personnel when there is a need to have an additional person for safety. Organizational and customer service skills are a must.
Clerical/Facilitator Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare correspondence, documentation, and other materials
- Maintain and update files and databases
- Answer phone calls and transfer information to the appropriate party
- Receive and process mail and packages
- Oversee any scheduled contract work at the Community Center
- Help maintain the Community Center complex, so it is clean and useable.
- Organize and schedule activities on the Park District calendar
- Assist visitors to Park District facilities
- Collaborate with community groups who utilize the Park District facilities
- Coordinate volunteers and maintain volunteer records
- Assist designing and running recreational programs recommended by the Park Board
- Backup the maintenance personnel when needed
Clerical/Facilitator Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma, associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Previous experience handling office responsibilities or experience in customer service
- Previous experience running recreational programs preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Highly organized multitasker
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision
- Solid time management skills; able to prioritize
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and walk 2.5 miles of Park District trails
